Why are mounting screws not supplied with the unit?

  • Because of the wide variety of sites that the unit may be used on we have decided it is impractical to try and supply mounting screws, we do however have 35 mm coach screws available from stock if required, please request when ordering.

How long does it take to wall mount an SDC Dummy housing?

  • SDC Housings are designed to be simple to fit and each housing should take no more than half an hour for a competent person, with the correct tools, to fit.

SDC Signs

Do SDC produce all their signs in house?

  • Since 1995 all SDC Signs have been produced in House using standard screen printing techniques.

What artwork is required to produce SDC Custom Signs?

  • Artwork for customised signs will be produced by SDC in the same font as the original template at no extra charge, however, if you require a fully Custom sign fresh artwork will be required, this can be produced from a customers hand drawn sketch or using your own vector image if available.

I have a company logo which I would like to include, is this possible?

  • If a Logo is required it is important to consider the size of the logo on the finished sign many of the signs which we have produced for council installation have had to include the logo (in several colours) and yet because of the size constraints the logo image is actually difficult to see from more than a few metres away (Please see Town Centre signs for examples). Often, unless the logo is very well known and instantly recognisable it is more useful to include the operators name as text for clarity.

My logo is required, what do I need to supply to SDC?

  • Artwork should be supplied as a vector image, we use Adobe illustrator 10 for pc, Coral Draw 8 for pc and Xara Xtreme. If suitable Vector images are not available all is not lost, our artwork department is skilled at screen film production and many company logos can easily be redrawn in a suitable file format for a relatively small cost. This file can then be supplied to you for your own use in future projects. Please let us see your .jpeg for a quotation before dismissing a redraw.

Why is my Web site artwork unsuitable?

  • Web based artwork is supplied as a bitmap image, usually .jpeg or .gif which are low resolution pixel images, these are unsuitable for many reasons.
The main reasons are: The quality is usually poor and degrades when the image is enlarged, and, often web images include tonal effects together with multiple colours which are impossible to reproduce in screen printing.

How long will it take?

  • Most of the signs shown on this site are available from stock, customised signs will take around Five working days to produce. Full Custom signs may take a little longer due to the need to confirm designs and artwork.
